Closer look at the LEGO CITY magazine’s deep sea diver minifigure

This month’s issue of the LEGO CITY magazine gifts readers a deep sea diver minifigure, including the new-for-2020 diving helmet.

The LEGO Group designed the new element for this summer’s Deep Sea Explorers subtheme, but only included it in two large sets – 60265 Ocean Exploration Base and 60266 Ocean Exploration Ship – and a hard-to-find polybag.

Fortunately, you can now get your hands on it without investing in a large LEGO CITY set, thanks to Issue 34 of the LEGO CITY magazine. It’s not just the helmet that you’ll find appealing, either: the minifigure’s red diving suit is striking, with some really detailed torso and leg printing.

The foil bag also includes one of the relatively rare teal seaweed elements introduced in last summer’s Friends sets, sweetening the deal even further. There’s a lot to love here, and all for just £3.99. You even get a free magazine! (Okay, so the minifigure is technically the freebie, but we all know what you’re really buying this magazine for.)

If the contents of the mag do interest you, though, you can take a closer look at them here. The next issue of the LEGO CITY magazine will arrive on January 6, and includes a free policeman minifigure and helicopter build.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
