Did LEGO just tease some new sets for Avatar: The Way of Water?

There could be more Avatar sets on the way for Jake Sully and co, as the LEGO Group drops a tweet that doesn’t give much away – but hints at plenty.

The LEGO Group has just put out a tweet hinting that there could be Avatar: The Way of Water sets on the horizon. The tweet is only seven seconds long and, unless we’ve messed up the settings on the Brick Fanatics computer, doesn’t have any sound. It just shows a Na’vi minifigure with light rippling across their face as if it was coming though water.

The comment on the tweet though, is highly suggestive: ‘Building hype for the next Avatar adventure – literally and figuratively.’ Literally? Literally building? If that doesn’t mean new sets, then we don’t know what does. While the long awaited sequel (the original was released way back in 2009) has been in the works for years, and the trailer has been ‘building the hype’ for some time now, the entire LEGO Avatar range so far is based on the first movie.

75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls and 75572 Jake & Neytiri’s First Banshee Flight were released on October 1, as were 75571 Neytiri & Thanator vs AMP Suit Quaritch and 75573 Floating Mountains: Site 26 & RDA Sampson. You can read our reviews of them both by clicking on the links.

What the new sets might contain is a matter of speculation for now, but with Avatar: The Way of Water due for a worldwide cinematic release on December 16 it shouldn’t be too long before LEGO fans get the opportunity to see – and build – Pandora again.
