Five LEGO sets with the most minifigures – March 2022

In the modern-day, LEGO sets are known not just for bricks but also minifigures, and there have been some big builds with lots of plastic characters.

The minifigure is a brand icon of the LEGO Group and is arguably just as iconic as a two by four brick. However, most sets keep their minifigure total under 15, but there are a few creations that decided to surpass that goal, including some by double the amount.

These are the six LEGO sets with the most minifigures, but only from those that you could purchase as traditional models, meaning we won’t be covering LEGO Education or any minifigure accessory packs, including chess sets to keep things a bit different from our 2021 list.

4 (tied) – Star Wars 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina

Including 21 minifigures, 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina represents the heart at the wretched hive of scum and villainy in LEGO Star Wars with plenty of exclusive characters to pick from.

4 (tied) – Star Wars 75222 Betrayal at Cloud City

Also featuring 21 minifigures, tied for the fifth spot is another LEGO Star Wars model. 75222 Betrayal at Cloud City had enough characters to recreate several scenes on Bespin at the same time.

3 – NINJAGO 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens

When the width of the product image isn’t enough to showcase a set’s minifigures without them wrapping around the corners of the set, you know there’s a lot. 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens of LEGO NINJAGO has that issue with 22 minifigures, counting Scoop the robot.

1 – Star Wars 75159 Death Star

Not counting the two brick-built droids, 75159 Death Star included 25 minifigures including multiple versions of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo and duplicate minifigures to populate the moon-shaped space station.

1 – Marvel 76178 Daily Bugle

Tied for first place, though with no duplicate minifigures, is LEGO Marvel’s 76178 Daily Bugle at 25 superheroes and villains. You can still get this skyscraper on the official online store, with the first minifigures for Daredevil and Punisher.
