Get your copy of LEGO Ideas 21337 Table Football signed by its fan designer

The fan designer behind the brand new LEGO Ideas 21337 Table Football will be signing copies of the set at its launch event later this month.

Taking place at 35-37 Rue Des Francs-Bourgeois in Paris on October 29 and 30, the latest LEGO Ideas set’s launch event includes two days of talks, tournaments and special guest appearances from footballer Thierry Henry and Barcelona midfielder Alexia Putellas. Now also confirmed to be in attendance is Donát Fehérvári, the fan designer responsible for bringing 21337 Table Football to life.

Fehérvári will be signing copies of the set for those in attendance, suggesting that 21337 Table Football will actually be available to purchase a few days ahead of its wide release on November 1. That’s not too surprising for a launch event – particularly one that allows you to get hands-on with the product, given it’s designed to be played with – but had yet to be explicitly confirmed.

The LEGO Ideas team announced Fehérvári’s foosball table as the winner of its ‘We love sports’ contest at the first LEGO CON in June 2021. Since then, the set has been through a rocky development process, and even came close to being cancelled altogether – largely thanks to not holding up under rigorous play from more than 300 keen testers.

It means the final product is considerably smaller than Fehérvári’s original vision, offering a five-a-side pitch (compared to the concept’s 11-a-side field). The LEGO Group has attempted to compensate by including a whopping 44 different minifigure heads, 43 hairpieces and 22 torsos and pairs of legs, allowing for an unprecedented level of customisation across the set’s two generic football teams.

Otherwise, you’ll be able to purchase 21337 Table Football online and in-store from November 1, for £214.99 / $249.99 / €249.99.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
