Pulling together a series of incredibly realistic buildable objects from across the Wizarding World, the 3,010-piece direct-to-consumer set brings something very different to the LEGO Harry Potter line-up for 2021. It’s still a 20th anniversary set, by virtue of its three golden minifigures (Dumbledore, McGonagall and Hagrid), but the main draw here is definitely the model.

That’s not only in the lifelike glasses, wand, Golden Snitch and so on – nor only in the detailed and organic recreation of Hedwig, which blows last year’s mechanical model out of the water – but also in the details, including the labels and contents of the five buildable potions bottles.
