UNIQLO have launched a new range of LEGO t-shirts, celebrating 60 years of the LEGO brick and 40 years of the minifigure.
The latest range of tees has been launched by LEGO licensee UNIQLO, bringing a host of new official t-shirt options to the discerning fan. As this year marks 60 years of the LEGO brick and 40 years of the minifigure, classic designs have influenced the collection. Vintage packaging and building instructions have inspired the t-shirt collection, with old school logos and artwork pulling on the nostalgia strings.
In this selection of new t-shirts, the classic design features the LEGO logo on a breast pocket, with a selection of LEGO logos from over the years on the back. A similar version is available with the Classic Space logo replacing the LEGO logo. The final variation on that design features a small minifigure image. Another of the tees is adorned with a schematic of a classic 2×4 brick.
A character used on early LEGO sets, with red dungarees and a brick under his arm, is the focus of the ‘System im Spiel’ design, with the phrase translating to ‘system of play’. ‘LEG GODT’ features on another tee in brick lettering, of course translating to ‘play well’. Finally, ‘Six LEGO bricks…’ features the classic brick colours that nostalgia nuts remember from childhood.
The designs range from the subtle to the less so, with a men’s t-shirt priced at £12.90. New designs are also available in the children’s range. This collection is available in physical UNIQLO stores and at the retailer’s website.
