LEGO gaming partnerships continue despite in-house developments
Another LEGO Technic crossover suggests that partnerships will continue despite the LEGO Group’s efforts towards in-house game development.
LEGO Technic 42205 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was recently launched, and to time with the release perfectly, Gameloft is adding the LEGO car to Asphalt Legends Unite. You can even get it in-game for free by picking up the set, as every copy has a download code for the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that you can redeem in-game. The in-game Collector mode is also available until March 23 to compete against other players in a single-player race.
The announcement and release of this update comes just after the LEGO Group confirmed they were building up their in-house game development efforts after previously relying almost entirely on external partnerships. This is a good sign that such partnerships won’t be stopping entirely.
The Asphalt Legends Unite logo has been featured on the box art since November 2024, and it’s clear that this partnership has been in the works for some time. It still demonstrates that these partnerships are being considered for the future, though.
This isn’t the first time that a LEGO Technic car has appeared in one of the Asphalt Legends games, either after a similar event in 2021. This time, you can score the car in-game by picking up the physical 42205 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
LEGO Technic 42205 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is available now for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99, and you can see what we thought of the build by clicking here.
