LEGO Star Wars 40451 Tatooine Homestead is out of stock at LEGO.com

Like the twin suns of Tatooine, this year’s May the Fourth LEGO Star Wars promotional set may have already sunset on the official online store.

Enthusiasts of a galaxy far, far away have come in full force to the official online store today as the May the Fourth promotions have begun. Already, the huge set released for the event, 75308 R2-D2, is on backorder with copies currently being shipped by May 12. However, the exclusive promotion model is also facing stock issues.

Even if you manage to pass the spend threshold needed to get 40451 Tatooine Homestead free on your order, the build won’t currently get added to your basket.

These stock issues are the latest in the LEGO Group’s unfortunate run-in with high-demand exclusive sets recently, with VIP rewards such as the NASA Ulysses Space Probe selling out in minutes.

Hopefully, the promotion can return in time for Star Wars Day on May 4, with just a few days left to go before the big day arrives. Either way, the double VIP points event is unlikely to be affected by stock shortages, still offering some enticement for ordering your LEGO Star Wars sets.

We’ll keep you updated with the latest on the LEGO Group’s May the Fourth stock as one of the most iconic events in the LEGO calendar continues. In the meantime, why not read up on what you will hopefully be able to find in the set thanks to our review.
