LEGO Star Wars 75313 AT-AT still selling strongly as it slips to back order

LEGO Star Wars 75313 AT-AT has moved to back order online, suggesting the 6,785-piece walker is still selling strongly – despite its mammoth price tag.

That may have something to do with the imminent price increases, which now look likely to impact the Ultimate Collector Series set. Barnes & Noble has already bumped 75313 AT-AT up from $799.99 to $849.99 in the US, and while we don’t yet have confirmation that it will be similarly affected in the UK, it’s perhaps no surprise that LEGO Star Wars fans are snapping it up just in case.

Those price increases – which the LEGO Group says are driven by ‘increased raw material and operating costs’ – will take effect in August in North America, and September in the UK and Europe. That means you’ve got just over a month to guarantee your copy of 75313 AT-AT at the current retail price of £699.99 in the UK, and €799.99 in Europe.

If you order today, you’ll be waiting just over a week for the enormous UCS model to be dispatched, as the LEGO Group is targeting a ‘ship by’ date of August 2. You’ll also bag a copy of 40529 Children’s Amusement Park for your trouble, which is currently free with all purchases above £90 / $90 / €90 at LEGO.com (but not in LEGO Stores, so your best bet is to shop online this time – even with the delay).

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
