LEGO Ideas The Nightmare Before Christmas project may be in trouble

A project based on The Nightmare Before Christmas in LEGO Ideas’ third 2022 review may be affected by the second 2022 review results.

The results of the second 2022 LEGO Ideas review have been announced and include the Red Telephone Box by John Cramp and The Nightmare Before Christmas by Simon Scott. Following the first two minifigures for Jack and Sally in 71024 Disney Series 2, an official set based on the film is coming. However, Laurgo23 has had a similar idea and their depiction of the movie is now in review.

We previously reported that it seemed likely for a LEGO Ideas set and while the results of the third 2022 review have yet to be confirmed, the movie has been chosen for a LEGO Ideas set based on a project in the review round before Laurgo23’s submission.

The third 2022 review results have yet to be announced, though as both depict Jack Skellington’s house, two LEGO Ideas The Nightmare Before Christmas sets in development at once seems unlikely.

Also in the third 2022 review is a project based on the floating house from Disney and Pixar’s Up, which is now confirmed to be getting an official set not from LEGO Ideas, meaning another project may not have the highest chance in the third 2022 review too. Similarly, the Never Ending Story project has been removed from the review round due to a copyright takedown request.

Notably, the comments on Laurgo23’s project include one from fergushart of the LEGO Ideas team, posted six days before the second 2022 review results were revealed. However, nothing has been confirmed and the official set is currently in production.
