LEGO World of Warcraft could happen in the future
The Vice President of Consumer Products at Blizzard Entertainment would be “be interested in discussing” a LEGO World of Warcraft product line.
In an interview with Forbes about LEGO Overwatch, Blizzard Vice President of Consumer Products Matt Beecher revealed that other franchises from Blizzard Entertainment could be ripe for future LEGO play themes.
Beecher told Forbes :
It needs to be the right time and place for both parties. I mean, we would definitely be interested in discussing that. With World of Warcraft, there’s a hundred million-plus people that have touched that experience at some point in their life, so there’s a very broad and diverse audience around the world that supports World of Warcraft. But it obviously would be a mutual decision. We need make sure there’s enough indicators pointing to that it would be a great idea.
So it seems that if the LEGO Group are willing to step up, Beecher is certainly happy to have the discussion. Given the hundreds of fan models that Warcraft has inspired, there could be an appetite for a LEGO theme based on the immersive franchise.
It should be noted that Forbes has emphasised that a spokesperson for the LEGO Group declined to comment on the possibility of World of Warcraft products.
