Minecraft Live 2023 reveals include Star Wars and LEGO

Minecraft Live 2023 had exciting reveals for enthusiasts of the game including some Star Wars and LEGO content, as well as info on future updates.

Minecraft’s annual online event, similar to the likes of LEGO CON, has just taken place and included some interesting news for those who play the game, as well as fans of a galaxy far, far away.

One of the first reveals during the event was the showcase of the upcoming Star Wars: Path of the Jedi DLC. This downloadable content will take place in the prequel trilogy and have you act as a padawan. Teased content includes finding your Kyber crystal, fighting droids and visiting well-known planets. Some surprisingly smooth, relative to Minecraft, ships were featured too and gameplay appears to be similar to the recent Dungeons & Dragons DLC.

As teased on Instagram, a challenge involving Hannahxxrose and LEGO Master Model Builder Tristan Cain was featured, revealing that the physical model in the challenge will be on display from October 16 – 31 at the LEGO Store Fifth Avenue, New York.

Coming in a future update for Minecraft are Trial Chambers, rooms of puzzles and challenges with new blocks. The overall design could lend itself well to brick-built models for a LEGO Minecraft nearer to the update’s release. They are also home to the Breeze – a new mob (or creature) coming to the game.

The mob vote for 2023 also revealed that the armadillo is coming to the game in the future and will be bringing wolf armour with it. Current rumours for LEGO Minecraft in 2024 include seven sets with a name that suggests a Minecraft Legends tie-in set. At the time of writing, these remain unconfirmed and should be taken with ample caution.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
