More clues that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is coming very soon

More clues have emerged that suggest the long-delayed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga may be on the way very soon.

Originally announced at E3 in 2019, news on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been incredibly thin on the ground for the past two years. We’ve had a handful of screenshots, a couple of trailers and… not much else, at least beyond multiple delays.

The latest update came back in April, when developer TT Games confirmed that the saga-spanning sequel had been delayed indefinitely past its planned spring 2021 launch window. And the fervour for more information on its potential release date is now reaching boiling point, which means we’re basically looking for clues in the tiniest shreds of evidence.

For instance: reddit user XavierEL1 asked Warner Bros. Games about LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s frame rate and resolution on the Xbox Series S, and actually received a clear response. Which – if you’re really, really hopeful – could mean that the game is pretty close to being finished, or at the very least that marketing may get underway soon.

If you’re curious, TT Games is apparently targeting a resolution of 4K Ultra HD at 60 frames per second for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on the Xbox Series S. That suggests the Series X and PS5 versions should also easily hit 60 frames per second at 4K, in line with the visual upgrade several older LEGO titles recently received.

Is this concrete evidence that LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is about to launch? Nope – but it is, as the title of this story suggests, just another clue in the great, frustrating puzzle that Warner Bros. and TT Games are currently weaving around this eagerly-awaited title.

For now, our most realistic chance for more news will come with this year’s virtual E3 event in June. We’ll keep you updated.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
