Rumoured LEGO D2C based on new IP coming in 2025
Fresh rumours suggest a large LEGO direct-to-consumer set could be coming based on a new IP sometime in 2025.
Hot on the heels of the very first LEGO rumours for 2025, previously-reliable Instagram user tandnbricks posted a rumour on their story, immortalised over on reddit. The story suggests that a new D2C set could be coming in 2025, known only by its set number 10352 and the codename Clown. The rumoured price is believed to be in the region of $229.99, putting it in the same realm as recent releases like 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System and 76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City.
The fact that tandnbricks posted the story with a blue sky and clouds background has got some thinking that it could be a Simpsons set, marking the IP’s return to LEGO for the first time since a duo of BrickHeadz in 2018. The background that the Instagram user shared is certainly similar to the iconic background featured in The Simpsons’ intro, but that’s far from confirmation that the theme will be making a comeback.
Some redditors also reason that the codename Clown could be a suggestion of a link to The Simpsons, perhaps linked to Krusty the Clown or Krusty Burger. However, it’s worth noting that the LEGO Group’s codenames are not anything close to the final product. For example, previous codenames forLEGOthemes have included ‘Lemon’ and ‘Coconut’ forSonic the Hedgehogand Avatar respectively, highlighting the lack of connection between them. After all, they’re made to keep the identities of themes a secret, not drop clues about them.
All in all, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from the LEGO Group before we can verify any of the information above for sure. With this rumoured set expected to come in 2025, there will likely be a fair long wait yet.
