Save £55 on LEGO Technic 42110 Land Rover Defender at Zavvi

Zavvi has slashed a whopping 34% off LEGO Technic 42110 Land Rover Defender, bringing the 2,573-piece set down to just £104.99.

That’s a huge £55 saving on the retail cost of £159.99, and one of the lowest prices we’ve ever seen on the 2019 model. It makes 42110 Land Rover Defender a difficult set to pass up, even with Black Friday on the horizon, because there’s no guarantee we’ll see a similar discount across the upcoming shopping weekend.

A rugged icon in olive green, the Defender is packed with functions, including what was – for October 2019 – the most sophisticated LEGO Technic gearbox ever, with two levers to alternate between high and low gear ratios, and a separate selector for changing gear. There’s also a working winch, six-cylinder engine, independent suspension and all-wheel drive.

It adds up to one of the best LEGO Technic sets in recent years, a conclusion further bolstered by the fact that 42110 Land Rover Defender isn’t due to retire until the end of 2022 at the earliest – a full three years after launching, and well beyond the regular lifespan of LEGO sets.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
