Will we hear more LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga news next week?

E3 has sailed by with not a trace of news on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – but could we hear more on the long-awaited game as soon as next week?

Warner Bros. Games and TT Games have seemingly gone dark on the heavily-anticipated, saga-spanning sequel, with the only official communication since last August’s delay confirmation coming in the form of… a second delay confirmation.

The gaming industry’s biggest event of the year seemed like the perfect opportunity to tell us something – anything – more about the ambitious game, but this year’s virtual E3 turned out to be a total bust for hopeful LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga fans.

That left us scratching our heads over the game’s status, a full two years on from its initial reveal at E3 in 2019. But the opportunities for publishers Warner Bros. Games to showcase the title – or at the very least, give us a minor update on how production is going – haven’t dried up entirely.

Next week, the LEGO Group will host its first ever digital streaming event, LEGO CON. And while the initial schedule makes no mention of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, there is a tantalising ‘and more!’ tease that suggests the event will go beyond the current list of panels, interviews and reveals.

Could that mean LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will make an appearance at LEGO CON? Only time will tell, but if the game’s development cycle so far has taught us anything, it’s that you probably shouldn’t put too much faith in this or any event.

Still, with LEGO Star Wars set reveals on the cards, LEGO CON will hopefully be worth tuning into anyway. The digital event gets underway from 5pm UK time on June 26 over at LEGO.com.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
