Two more LEGO Ideas projects reach the review stage
Another two LEGO Ideas projects have successfully gained the 10,000 votes needed to advance to the platform’s review stage for consideration by the LEGO Group.
ThomasW’s Observatory Mountain View and NathanR2015’s Large Hadron Collider will both join the ranks of Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Merchant’s House, Spaceballs – Eagle 5 and Addams Family Mansion in what is shaping up to be an eclectic second 2016 review.
The spherical sculpting of the Observatory’s dome would certainly offer an interesting build experience should the set make it to store shelves. Both these sets look to qualify under the newly revised LEGO Ideas guidelines, but whether they’ll prove worthy enough of becoming official LEGO sets remains to be seen.
There are currently four sets in the Ideas production pipeline – 21308 Adventure Time, and the as-yet officially untitled Caterham Super Seven, Beatles Yellow Submarine and Apollo 11 Saturn V. The next LEGO Ideas review period begins in September, and includes projects that reach 10,000 votes from May 2016.
Author Profile
- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
