LEGO Ideas MINDSTORMS contest winners announced

LEGO Ideas has announced the winners of the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor contest after a slight delay.

As previously reported, the results for the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor contest were delayed for unknown reasons. Whatever the issue may have been it appears to be sorted as the winners of the contest have now been announced on the LEGO Ideas Blog.

The original contest begun on November 3 2020, and tasked entrants with designing a sixth model for 51515 Robot Inventor, the fourth generation set for LEGO MINDSTORMS. In order to allow for more entires, the designs could be submitted using bricks or pen and paper, meaning fans wouldn’t need to own 51515 to stand a chance at winning.

Out of the five current winners, only two are pen and paper concepts. Two Grand prize winners were selected, the first of which was myibookmoe and their 5PORTPLANE. The second grand prize winner was JKBrickworks’ Candy Cane Catapult. Both will be walking away with 51515 LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor and 40413 MINDSTORMS Mini Robot.

The two runner up winners will both win 51515 LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor and the judges chose foton’s T-Boy concept and Alien Alex’s Planting Machine.

Two other randomly selected winners were part of this contest with the names of all entrants being randomly drawn selecting both winners. So far, only one of these have been announced as twoji_daddy’s LEGO ball roller game but we are awaiting a response for the second winner. Either way, both will be winning 51515 LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor.

The latest LEGO Ideas blog entry also reveals that two more contest results are due for tomorrow with more on the winners of the Design an Iconic Ferrari Poster and the Build a Ghost You Are Afraid Of contests. There is also an ongoing event on the platform with the WE LOVE SPORTS contest asking fans to share sports-themed entries.
