LEGO Ideas 21323 Grand Piano update adds new songs and features
The LEGO Group has updated the Powered Up app for 21323 Grand Piano with new songs, new features and a new interface.
The ambitious 3,662-piece set launched in August 2020, promising to honour fan designer Donny Chen’s ‘playable piano’ concept. And while it might not be truly playable, in the sense that you can’t strike a key and hear a corresponding note, it does offer plenty of functionality through its corresponding app.
There are two modes available in the app: ‘Play’ and ‘Listen’. The former allows you to play along to a given song – within limits. Hitting any key will play the next note, rather than relying on specific presses. ‘Listen’, on the other hand, triggers a pre-programmed input of key strokes while music plays in the background.
The app’s latest update embellishes these experiences by expanding its existing music library, with four new songs to play and 10 new songs to listen to. There’s also a couple of new functions in shuffle and repeat, which will allow you to randomise the songs you play or hear, or – as you’ve probably guessed – repeat them.
Finally, the LEGO Group’s Powered Up team has given the app a design overhaul, with a brand new interface. The update is available right now through Google Play and the App Store. 21323 Grand Piano, meanwhile, is available now at LEGO.com – and you can still order in time for Christmas.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
