Where is the cheapest place in the world to buy LEGO?
In a recent study, retailer Toyzone has worked out which countries are the most – and least – expensive places to buy LEGO sets.
Toyzone looked at eight popular LEGO sets across a number of themes to establish where in the world is the best place to shop when you’re looking for a good deal. The retailer worked out how much it would cost to buy each of the eight sets, made an average of the prices, and then compared the results between countries. The sets analysed were:
- 10696 Medium Creative Brick Box
- Harry Potter 71043 Hogwarts Castle
- Super Mario 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System
- 71040 The Disney Castle
- Marvel 76178 Daily Bugle
- Star Wars 75288 AT-AT
- NINJAGO 71741 City Gardens
- 21056 Taj Mahal
Based on Toyzone’s study, the cheapest country in the world to buy LEGO is Belgium, where the average price of the eight sets was $269. By comparison, the most expensive place to buy LEGO sets is in Argentina, where a set costs $2,270 on average.
Denmark, the birthplace of the LEGO Group, is the second cheapest place in Europe to shop. This also means you could squeeze in a trip to the LEGO Group’s Billunnd Campus while you’re there. It’s also the fourth cheapest place in the world at $287, making it well worth the trip.
You can see the full study here and work out where your country ranks – as well as where you might need to book an upcoming holiday to nab a good deal on LEGO sets in 2023.

Currently visiting Legoland Billund with my wife and 4 children. I have compared the prices and I can say that Lego prices in Finland are 20-25% less than here in Legoland. Park is great, awesome. But the Lego pices were a BIG dissapointment. I think we’ll see what legos my children will like and propably buy them in Finland when we get back. Will save loads of money…the park itself is great experience.
As always these surveys doesn’t ring true for me. Suggested price in Germany is around 20% cheaper than Denmark. The cheaper and most expensive sets don’t follow this rule perfectly. But then you have places like Amazon with their discounts. I have not been to a place where Lego was more expensive than Denmark…
euhh me looking oh where would i be able to buy the cheapest me seeing my own country huhhhhh really nice tho i can barley believe it
They picked a weird selection of countries, and I wonder what exchange rate they used for Argentina.
