Final Fantasy launches LEGO competition to celebrate 25th anniversary
Final Fantasy VII is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a LEGO-themed competition – here’s how to take part.
In 2022, it had been 25 years since Final Fantasy VII first made its debut. To round off a year of anniversary celebrations, game developer Square Enix is running a poll for fans of the game to vote between four classic scenes. The most popular scene will be remade using LEGO elements and one lucky winner will win the final piece in a second contest later this year.
The choices are between Aerith’s House, the Honeybee Inn, the Sector 5 Slums Church, and the Nibelheim Water Tower, each more iconic and recognisable than the last.
There haven’t been any official LEGO Final Fantasy sets, despite multiple attempts from fans to make the game into a LEGO Ideas set. It wouldn’t be the first time that the LEGO Group has teamed up with video game-centred sets, with LEGO Super Mario going from strength to strength recently. What’s more, Square Enix has already used LEGO elements to make a splash, like this enormous build that debuted at a fan exhibition.
You have until February 7 to cast your vote, which you can do via the embedded tweet above or by heading straight to this link.
