LEGO Star Wars 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor rumoured for April reveal

Rumours suggest LEGO Star Wars 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor will be unveiled in late April, following the finale of The Mandalorian Season 3.

General assumptions were that the long-rumoured Mando set would be unveiled next week, following the appearance of TIE Interceptors in the third episode of the new season this week. Promobricks now claims that 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor won’t be revealed until April 25, however – six days after the eighth and final episode airs.

The same source suggests this could mean the set is actually based on a sequence in the final chapter, and may therefore contain spoilers in its minifigure line-up. That would explain why the LEGO Group is prepared to wait until just six days before its rumoured release date – May 1 – before revealing it to the public.

It’s a risky business given retailers are prone to jumping the gun on set reveals, but would be pretty cool if the LEGO Group can pull it off: we’ve never before had a Mandalorian set launch so closely to its source material.

Promobricks also reports that 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor is the ‘official set name’ rather than a description of the set’s contents, clarifying that the Fang Fighter is a different ship to the one flown by Bo-Katan Kryze in Chapter 19. That would also offer the opportunity to diversify the minifigure line-up further, leaving the new Bo-Katan minifigure exclusive to 75361 Spider Tank.

Exactly which Star Wars characters might appear in 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor is still a mystery for now – unless you move in spoiler-heavy circles. We’ll refrain from spoiling any surprises here, but story leaks are apparently doing the rounds in some corners of the internet if you want to check them out.

Remember that the very existence of 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter vs. TIE Interceptor is technically still just a rumour for now, so take it lightly until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group. For now, check out the full LEGO Star Wars 2023 slate below.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
