Fan reactions to the new Star Wars mechs reveal the minifigures steal the show

After German retailer JB Spielwaren released images of the three new LEGO Star Wars mechs, fans have been quick to notice their minifigure value.

The three new builds (75368 Darth Vader’s Mech, 75369 Boba Fett Mech, and 75370 Stormtrooper Mech respectively) each come with a minifigure, and while quite a few fans on Twitter at least have questioned why those three in particular were chosen, it seems that the minifigures that come with the three new sets have sparked significant interest.

75369 Boba Fett seems to be popular across the board, with the arm-printing on the minifigure adding to the buzz around the set. Another key point is that the Boba Fett we see with the mech is from the original Star Wars trilogy rather than the Book of Boba Fett or even the Mandalorian. A lot of fans have been waiting on this version of Boba Fett for some time, so securing his minifigure is more than enough of a reason to want the whole set.

While the stormtrooper minifigure in 75370 Stormtrooper Mech doesn’t give us any new arm-printing, a lot of Star Wars LEGO fans have pointed out the somewhat overly large helmet that we have for the minifigure is finally good for something. User New_Car3392 pointed out that “the Stormtrooper one is a promising base for some kind of heavy droid,” suggesting that the set could be versatile for other builds too.

Finally, the main impression that most people seem to have noted with 75368 Darth Vader’s Mech is that there’s one particular element that’s conspicuously missing – a cape. Even with that though, the minifigure seems to be making up for the missing cape, with plenty of interest around the fact that the Darth Vader minifigure, like Boba Fett, has arm-printing. This seems to be the theme with all three sets, with fans across both Reddit and Twitter agreeing that putting in the extra effort with the minifigures is absolutely a smart move.

All of the 6+ LEGO Star Wars mech sets should be available later on this year, and we’re expecting an official announcement from the LEGO Group about them any day now.
