8 LEGO sets Brick Fanatics readers are buying with double VIP points
Double VIP points events are a great time to tick a few long-awaited sets off your wishlist – and some of our readers are planning to do just that.
In case you missed it, the LEGO Group is running double VIP points on all purchases, both in-store and online from June 9 until June 13. That means it starts tomorrow, so all VIPs (here’s how to sign up for free if you haven’t already) can essentially claim 10% cashback (a reminder on how that works here) on all their purchases.
With that in mind, it’s also a good time to buy any sets you’ve been saving up for. The higher the price, the more points you get for your purchase. Even for smaller, cheaper sets, double points is better than normal.
Brick Fanatics asked our readers what they are planning to buy during the double VIP points event and the majority have got their eyes on those big-ticket sets. Still, there’s something for every budget on our collective wishlists. Here’s everything our readers told us they were planning to buy, in case you needed some last-minute inspiration.
8 – 71799 NINJAGO City Markets
If you read our review of LEGO 71799 NINJAGO City Markets, you’ll know that we were pretty impressed with the latest Goliath to join the NINJAGO theme. It’s a set with plenty of details to enjoy from the lofty tree to the intricate red bridge at the base. With a whopping 21 minifigures, every single minifigure has its own unique accessories, from well-known ninjas like Zane to nameless stand-ins to fill out the market. It’s an excellent choice at any time of year – but especially attractive when we’re talking double VIP points.
7 – 31203 World Map
With 31023 World Map heading for retirement at the end of this year, now is certainly the time to buy if it’s been on your wishlist for a while. At £214.99, 10% cashback is a tidy amount to get off in the future – plus you get an impressive and truly enormous display set to hang on your wall.
6 – 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade
10323 PAC-MAN Arcade is a recent release, but an impressive one. A homage to retro gaming, it captures the true spirit of the original game with every authentic detail, from the brightly coloured ghosts on top of the machine to the new tiles that make up the brick-built ‘screen’. A smart purchase during double points for sure.
5 – 10305 Lion Knight’s Castle
LEGO fans truly can’t seem to get enough of brick-built castles, so why not add an icon of the genre to your collection? Released to celebrate the LEGO Group’s 90th birthday back in 2022, 10305 Lion Knight’s Castle is a smooth and well-designed model that’s equally fun to build as it is to display after. With striking flags and rich detail throughout, we’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a surefire-winning build to buy in the next few days.
4 – 76958 Dilophosaurus Ambush
Most of the sets so far have been on the higher end of the price scale, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing for a smaller budget. LEGO Jurassic World 76958 Dilophosaurus Ambush is one of a wave of sets released to celebrate the anniversary of Jurassic Park this year and has been called one of the best value builds from the wave. If you want to make the most of double VIP points without breaking the bank, this is a strong choice from our readers.

3 – 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb
Another throwback to the past, LEGO Indiana Jones 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb packs a lot of fun features from a memorable movie scene into a budget-friendly price of £34.99. Impressive detail on the minifigures and a good-looking build all round make this a promising buy for anyone, Indiana Jones fan or not.
2 – 75348 Mandalorian Fang Fighter
Two Star Wars ships in one, plus double VIP points? A good deal if we ever saw one, especially considering that you get the relatively rare darksaber element and an impressive Mando minifigure (special mention to the authentically detailed helmet). While the ships are relatively small, the build is an engaging one (as you can read in our review). If you’re looking for your next LEGO Star Wars set, this is a fine option.
1 – 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell
Another recent release, LEGO Disney 43225 The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell was released alongside the live-action Disney film of the same title. The stars of the show have got to be the minifigures, with each mermaid showing off its specially-moulded new tail and every single centimetre of Ursala is stunning. We haven’t even mentioned the build itself, which is packed with colour within a uniquely shaped base. What’s not to love?
Here’s a reminder of all the sets on our readers’ wishlist. Which will you be picking up?
