Botanicals-compatible terrariums proposed for LEGO Ideas

LEGO Botanicals has yet to delve into the concept of terrariums, but 10,000 LEGO Ideas users are eager for sealed ecosystems to get a set.

It’s only taken one and a half months for 44th_brick’s Botanical Terrariums to reach 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, quickly earning it a spot in the second 2025 review. Their project posits some realistic plants similar to those that we see often in LEGO Botanicals, but sealed in their own ecosystem in terrariums, complete with insects and more.

It’s a clever idea and one that is nothing new to LEGO Ideas review rounds. While no previous projects have been successful so far, today’s reveal of 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine with it’s many transparent elements proves that the LEGO Ideas team aren’t averse to lots of transparent pieces in a single set.

The LEGO Group might prefer to save the concept of terrariums for LEGO Botanicals models rather than LEGO Ideas, but the theme is crossing over with LEGO Art in 31217 The Fauna Collection – Tiger, so a set in LEGO Ideas borrowing the Botanicals designs wouldn’t be unusual now.

For now, 44th_brick’s submission has a chance at becoming a future LEGO Ideas set in the second 2025 review, joining 10 other models following the recent start of this round.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
