Donkey Kong is coming to LEGO Super Mario in summer 2023
LEGO Super Mario is set to welcome Donkey Kong later this summer as a new accessory for the interactive figures following a tease.
The LEGO Group’s MAR10 Day event not only revealed 71423 Dry Bowser Castle Battle but also confirmed another upcoming addition to LEGO Super Mario as Donkey Kong is joining the theme.
Whether he will be in one or multiple models has yet to be officially confirmed, though the stream did showcase a first look at the figure, which has enough room for Mario, Luigi or Peach to ride him into your courses.
Rumours for LEGO Super Mario later this year include an array of sets. While these have yet to be confirmed, one could include Donkey Kong ahead of his confirmed debut in the summer of 2023.

Previously, LEGO Super Mario has had a spin-off range themed to Luigi’s Mansion, which included an extra Poltergust accessory needed to capture the ghosts in the various models. The Poltergust was notably only included in 71397 Luigi’s Mansion Lab and Poltergust Expansion Set.
This concept of an accessory-focused set could come back for summer 2023 with Donkey Kong possibly acting as the next figure add-on in a range of LEGO Donkey Kong models. The press release notes that the reveal of Donkey Kong is a tease for multiple Super Mario products too.
