Earn free LEGO VIP points in new gift-with-purchase survey

The LEGO Group has launched a new survey in the VIP Rewards Centre, offering the chance to earn free VIP points.

You’ll snag a cool 50 points for telling the company about your gift-with-purchase experience, which maybe isn’t the biggest return in the world – but every little helps. And given you usually need to spend money to accrue LEGO VIP points (which can be spent on discount vouchers for LEGO sets, or exclusive rewards), this is a rare opportunity to bag some for free.

Or for 10 to 15 minutes of your time, anyway, which is what the LEGO Group reckons it will take to finish the survey. But it’s entirely multiple choice, so you’ll probably be able to finish it in around three minutes. Fifty VIP points works out to around 30p in discount vouchers, or the equivalent of spending roughly £6 (this is back-of-the-napkin maths) at LEGO.com or the LEGO Store. But there’s more to this than just points.

That’s because the questions are all anchored around what VIP members want to see from future gifts-with-purchase, giving you the chance to potentially shape the future of LEGO freebies as you see fit. For instance, one question asks whether you’d prefer to receive brick-built gifts or merchandise (such as blankets and tote bags), while another queries whether you’d rather see standalone models, builds that connect to larger sets, an entire series of collectibles, or play-focused models for kids.

The survey also digs into the specifics of brick-built GWPs to determine exactly what matters to you in a model – from rare elements and printed pieces to minifigures and unique colours – and whether you prefer builds linked to ‘nostalgic themes from your childhood’ or historical, educational or decorative sets. There’s also a question asking how often you’d like to see GWPs, which pretty much everyone will presumably answer with: “Every time I’m shopping on LEGO.com or LEGO Stores.” Because why not?

Head over to the VIP Rewards Centre to fill in the survey, determine the fate of future gifts-with-purchase and bag yourself 50 VIP points in the process. If you’re not already signed up to the LEGO Group’s loyalty scheme, click here to find out more about the VIP program.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
