The Eternals to return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The vice president of production at Marvel Studios has confirmed that we’ve not seen the last of the Eternals in the MCU.

Nate Moore, producer of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the Eternals as well as the vice president of production at Marvel Studios has revealed in an interview with Phase Zero that the most recent team of heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – the Eternals – will return in the future.

“I don’t want to spoil anything, but we have not seen the last of those characters,” said Moore in the interview, referring to the Eternals.

Spoilers for Eternals are about to follow. Eternals was released in 2021 and its ending featured a hefty cliff-hanger with some of the team out of action, some journeying to other planets with celestials inside to warn them of their coming demise and others taken by the massive Celestial Arishem for going against their orders. It was also revealed that Harry Styles was playing another Eternal – Starfox.

With an ending like that, it seemed likely that there were plans for the future of the team, especially with a small portion of a dead Celestial now sticking out of the ocean on Earth. However, it is also the second lowest-grossing film in the MCU behind The Incredible Hulk, arguably making the future of the team on the silver screen uncertain.

Thankfully, it seems that we have nothing to worry about as the characters will feature in a future Marvel Studios project, possibly one of the two upcoming Avengers films where the various teams are likely going to team up against a larger threat, as with Avengers: Endgame.

There are also four LEGO sets for Eternals now available, before they retire, on the official online store, including 76145 Eternals’ Aerial Assault, 76154 Deviant Ambush!, 76155 In Arishem’s Shadow and 76156 Rise of the Domo.
