With recent rumours for more projects in a galaxy far, far away it’s time for another update to every rumoured Star Wars project, including games.

As one of the biggest franchises in the world, Star Wars has plenty of projects in production for Disney+, the big screen and other forms of entertainment too.

Since introducing this category of articles in September 2022, more reports and releases including Andor and Tales of the Jedi offer an interesting update to the list, so here’s every rumoured and confirmed Star Wars project in order of films, series and then games:

Taika Waititi’s film

Details for the next Star Wars films, including one from Taika Waititi of Thor: Ragnarok and Love and Thunder, are still sparse. However, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has called Waititi’s approach to the Star Wars universe ‘fresh, unexpected and… unique’.

Kevin Feige’s film

Release date: TBC Project: Film Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

Following his work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Fiege is working on a Star Wars movie too, but there’s nothing concrete to say on this project at the time of writing.

J.D. Dillard’s movie

Release date: TBC Project: Film Confirmed / Rumoured: Rumoured

There are rumours for Star Wars movies too, with Deadline claiming that an Exegol-centric movie could be in the works by J.D. Dillard and Matt Owens.

Damon Lindelof’s movie

Release date: TBC Project: Film Confirmed / Rumoured: Rumoured

Reports of a Star Wars film from Damon Lindelof suggest that it could be a standalone story set after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.

Rogue Squadron

Release date: TBC Project: Film Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed (but pulled from release schedule)

Unfortunately, Rogue Squadron has been pulled from the current release schedule, though there’s no confirmation that the project has been cancelled just yet.

Rian Johnson’s trilogy

Release date: TBC Project: Trilogy of films Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

Following his work on The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson is still scheduled to work on a trilogy of Star Wars movies but recently confirmed via Den of Geek that scheduling is pushing those plans back.

A Droid Story

Release date: TBC Project: TBC Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

From the 2020 Disney Investor Day, according to CBR, we’ve still not heard anything about this animated project featuring R2-D2 and C-3PO.

The Bad Batch Season 2

Release date: January 4, 2023 Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

Due to release on January 4, 2023, on Disney+, the Bad Batch is back for another season and a trailer is now available, teasing the adventures to come.

The Mandalorian Season 3

Release date: 2023 Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

Thanks to the trailer at the D23 Expo 2022, we know that the third season of The Mandalorian is coming in 2023, featuring the live-action debut of Mandalore (other than a flashback).

Rangers of the New Republic

Release date: TBC Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

Rangers of the New Republic is a new live-action series set within the universe of The Mandalorian that will ‘intersect with future stories and culminate into a climactic story event.’ Despite it still being listed on the Disney+ Originals website, Kathleen Kennedy has reportedly told Empire Magazine, via IGN, that concepts from that series were being used in future episodes of The Mandalorian, which we may see in the third season, or have seen already.

Visions Volume 2

Release date: Spring 2023 Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

It may be less likely to receive LEGO sets, as the first volume did not but, either way, the interesting standalone adventures of Star Wars: Visions returns in Spring 2023.

Young Jedi Adventures

Release date: Spring 2023 Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

As evidenced by the name, Young Jedi Adventures is the first full-length animated Star Wars series created for a younger audience, which may make it suitable for 4+ LEGO Star Wars sets, provided it offers inspiration for any at all.

Ahsoka

Release date: Spring 2023 Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

Due in spring 2023, Jon Favreau recently teased that the upcoming Ahsoka series will have a ‘samurai’ approach.

The Acolyte

Release date: TBC Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

There are no updates on the Acolyte but the official description still states that it’s focusing on ‘a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark side powers’in the final days of the High Republic era, which many recent Star Wars books have been exploring.

Skeleton Crew

Release date: 2023 Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

Skeleton Crew, the coming-of-age series coming to Disney+ in 2023 and starring Jude Law, will tell a story featuring a group of children who get lost in the galaxy, likely meeting Jude Law’s character of course.

Lando

Release date: TBC Project: Series Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

Nothing new on Lando recently, including who will play the titular character in the series. It may be wise to not expect this series for some time just in case.

Hunters

Release date: 2023 Project: Game Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

With one set based on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order now available in the form of 75331 BD-1, it’s worth mentioning upcoming games too, in case any might offer inspiration for future LEGO Star Wars sets. This includes Star Wars: Hunters, releasing only on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, which may limit its potential for LEGO models.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Release date: 2023 Project: Game Confirmed / Rumoured: Confirmed

A sequel to Fallen Order is on the way in the form of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, featuring the return of both Cal Kestis and BD-1. The first game already has a set, so one for the second might not be out of the question, but nothing has been confirmed.
