First box shots of 2023 LEGO BrickLink Designer Program sets revealed

Backers of LEGO sets in the BrickLink Designer Program can get a sneak peek at what the finished products will look like ahead of their release this year.

The LEGO Ideas theme has given us a number of exciting products, but inevitably a few have failed to make the cut. The BrickLink Designer Program was a way of remedying that, making some failed Ideas projects available through the BrickLink website instead. Diehard LEGO fans could acquire a handful of LEGO Ideas projects through a crowdfunding scheme, with the first to hit a particular milestone going into production.

Sets in the BrickLink Designer Program are only available to those who backed them in the crowdfunding phase, making them highly sought after in the long run. The sets in the program’s third round are due to ship in 2023, with the five lucky sets quickly decided in mid-2022. Now the LEGO Group’s Product Certification page has given us some (low resolution) images of the boxed LEGO sets, which should hopefully whet your appetite if you’ve backed any of them.

The sets currently listed on the page include 910002 Studgate Train Station, 910004 Winter Chalet, 910008 Modular Construction Site, 910011 1950’s Diner and 910027 Mountain View Observatory. With luck, we’ll get a better look at these sets before too long.

If you’re feeling sore about missing out on these projects, worry not. The BrickLink Designer Program is becoming a permanent feature of the BrickLink site, allowing LEGO fans to submit their own designs for consideration for some time to come.
