Identity of mystery LEGO ‘Coconut’ theme may have been revealed

The identity of the mystery LEGO theme codenamed ‘Coconut’ may have been revealed as an upcoming movie according to the latest rumour.

Later this year, the sequel to the 2009 film, James Cameron’s Avatar, is scheduled to be released as the latest in what is expected to be a franchise of movies from Disney. The Avatar sequel has long been rumoured to be getting a range of LEGO sets but the latest report might have revealed that it will also be the mystery LEGO theme codenamed ‘Coconut’.

StoneWars believes that the rumoured LEGO Avatar theme will be ‘Coconut’ and release in October, possibly debunking another rumour of four potentially upcoming models that were said to be part of the movie range and coming in April 2022.

A series of listings for ‘Coconut’ from a US toy retailer included the following four sets for the mystery theme, which are now reported to be for Avatar:

75571 – 560 pieces, $39.99 / €39.99
75572 – 572 pieces, $59.99 / €54.99
75573 – 887 pieces, $89.99 / €89.99
75574 – 1,212 pieces, $139.99 / €139.99

As always, treat any rumours with caution until officially confirmed by the LEGO Group. However, this suggests that rumours and hopes of a return to LEGO Indiana Jones later in 2022 might be inaccurate, though the source believes that the archaeologist will be getting more sets with the delayed release of the fifth Indiana Jones film in 2023.

Provided this rumour is accurate, it would also mean that the mystery ‘Coconut’ is not Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power or any other possible product ranges that you might have been hoping for.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
