LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde is a proper model for proper grown-ups

Grown-ups looking for a ‘serious’ model to adorn their shelves can now start saving up for the imminent arrival of LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde.

The LEGO Group opened up its hangar doors today to give the world a first official look at 10318 Concorde, a 2,083-piece set landing on September 4 for VIPs. Everyone else can gain access to the brick-built version of the supersonic aircraft on September 7, with the model priced at £169.99 / $199.99 / €199.99.

Measuring 105cm long, 15cm tall and 43cm wide, 10318 Concorde harkens back to a different era of aviation, one that once saw the iconic aircraft make the trip from London to New York City in less than three hours. If it’s stats like that that get you excited, then congratulations – the upcoming LEGO Icons model is probably made for you.

In fact, in the latest Brick Fanatics YouTube video above, editor Matthew has taken a good look at the lifestyle marketing behind 10318 Concorde and provides his thoughts on who the set is possibly aimed at. That’s not to say that the LEGO Icons model won’t appeal to a potentially much wider audience, but for some the set may well be one of only a few ‘normalised’ builds that proper grown-ups would pick up and display.
