Latest LEGO Ideas submission to hit 10K is off to see The Wizard

The Wizard of Oz proves to be the inspiration for the latest successful LEGO Ideas submission to gain 10,000 supporters.

The first LEGO Ideas review of 2024 continues to gather pace, with more fan-made designs starting to be added to the current list of successful submissions. Most recently we saw Roman Forum managing to drum up 10,000 supporters and it’s now been joined by yet another innovative creation.

The Wizard of Oz – 85th Film Anniversary is an homage to the classic Technicolour film and boasts an impressive 2,934 pieces. The LEGO Ideas submission is the work of (coincidentally) The Wizard of Oz and consists of six separate brick-built modules that can be combined together to create one larger diorama depicting the 1939 movie world that was itself based on the novels of L. Frank Baum.

Each section recreates a location from The Wizard of Oz, such as Dorothy’s house in Munchkin Land, the haunted forest, the Emerald City and the Wicked Witch of the West’s castle, and has its own scene-specific play functions. In addition, the LEGO Ideas build comes with a total of eight minifigures including Dorothy Gale, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man and a selection of microfigures.

If previous announcements are anything to go by, we’ll find out if The Wizard of Oz – 85th Film Anniversary is scheduled to become a physical LEGO Ides set in the final three months of this year.
