LEGO Spider-Man: No Way Home set rumoured for summer 2023

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: the LEGO Group is rumoured to finally be revisiting Spider-Man: No Way Home in summer 2023 with a $200 Statue of Liberty set.

The wall-crawler’s MCU threequel arrived in cinemas all the way back in November 2021, alongside a small wave of three LEGO sets: 76184 Spider-Man vs. Mysterio’s Drone Attack, 76195 Spider-Man’s Drone Duel and 76185 Spider-Man at the Sanctum Workshop. But only the latter of those really had anything to do with No Way Home, while the other two were inspired by Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

That was presumably to avoid spoiling the return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men in the multiverse movie – but we’re now far out enough from the film’s release that we didn’t even need to preface that plot point with a spoiler warning, which means the LEGO Group is also surely free to release spoiler-heavy sets. And according to the rumour mill, that’s exactly what’s on the cards for this summer.

Instagram user exabrickslegogo_ reports that at least one LEGO Spider-Man: No Way Home set will launch in summer 2023, which emperorthrawn claims – via an attendee at Nuremberg Toy Fair – will be a model of the Statue of Liberty from the film’s climactic battle. It’s reportedly set to retail for around $200, with nine minifigures in the box.

Those cover almost all the major characters involved in the final showdown, including all three Spider-Man variants, MJ, Ned, Doctor Strange, Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Electro. Notably missing from that list are Sandman and the Lizard, though it’s not inconceivable to imagine that the former (at least) might be brick-built in such a set.

It’s worth remembering that this isn’t the first time the rumour mill has promised LEGO sets based on No Way Home – reports all the way back in December 2021 suggested we’d see something materialise in summer 2022 – so take this story with an even greater pinch of salt than is customary for LEGO rumours.

Nuremberg Toy Fair did take place from February 1 to 5, and the LEGO Group was among the exhibitors – so there’s a good chance that if this set does exist, it was on display at the behind-closed-doors event. But we won’t know for sure until the LEGO Group comes out and officially confirms any future LEGO Spider-Man: No Way Home sets…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
