LEGO Store Battersea Power Station opening date confirmed

The LEGO Group has confirmed the opening date for its new LEGO Store in the UK, which will be located at the recently-opened Battersea Power Station.

Following decades of failed redevelopment proposals – including tentative plans for an indoor theme park – Battersea Power Station finally opened its doors to the public in October 2022, and is now home to shops, restaurants, apartments, a crazy golf course, cinema and even a pedestrianised high street. And later this month, London’s fourth LEGO Store will join the likes of Adidas, Uniqlo and Skechers in the power station’s shopping centre.

The LEGO Store Battersea Power Station will open on May 25, as confirmed by the store page over at LEGO.com. You’ll find all the hallmarks of a typical LEGO Store inside, from the Pick & Build wall to the Build-a-Minifigure bar, but this isn’t a flagship store – so you won’t find the ‘retailtainment’ experiences offered by the likes of the Leicester Square and Fifth Avenue stores.

“With bricks at the heart of Battersea Power Station, we’re delighted that the LEGO Group has chosen the Grade II listed Power Station, which is one of the largest brick buildings in Europe, as the new home for their first store south of the river in London,” said Sam Cotton, Head of Asset Management at Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC), in January.

There’s no word yet on any specific opening events for the Battersea Power Station store, but the LEGO Group typically has freebies and exclusive gifts-with-purchase up for grabs for its first customers. We’ll keep you posted on any grand opening events as and when they’re announced. The store can be found on the Ground Floor of Turbine Hall A.

London currently has three other LEGO Stores to check out, including the flagship store in Leciester Square, and one at each Westfield shopping centre (in Shepherds Bush and Stratford). The Battersea Power Station store will bring the total number of LEGO Stores in the UK up to 18 when it opens on May 25.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
