More physical LEGO VIP rewards available

A selection of new physical LEGO VIP rewards have been added to the website, but the most desirable one is already out of stock.

Following the debacle of rewards being announced for the LEGO.com VIP Reward Centre, then only being available in the USA, more physical rewards have been added – although the desirable one is already out of stock.

40290 60 Years of the LEGO Brick, a gift with purchase set, was available for a short time at 2,250 points, but in now out of stock. 853775 Andrea’s DJ Pod, 853774 Olivia’s Satellite Pod and 5005237 Friendship Rings are all still in stock.

853917 Creative Stationery Set is barely worth the points value attached; it is listed at LEGO.com as £14.99, yet costs 2,100 points. £15 worth of points costs 2,400 points, so the saving is pretty negligible. Fans will be more inclined to use the points to get vouchers and buy from the wide selection of LEGO sets available on the website.

853775 Andrea’s DJ Pod and 853774 Olivia’s Satellite Pod are also poor value when purchased with points – they are listed at £7.99 each on LEGO.com. In the Reward Centre, they cost 1,200 points. A voucher for £8 equates to 1,280 points. The saving is absolutely tiny, it makes much more sense for fans to get vouchers and use them for whatever they want.

There has been a lot of scepticism from LEGO fans about the new LEGO VIP Reward Centre since it launched last year. New rewards like these give the appearance that the company is attempting to stuff it with rewards that are poor value just to give the impression there is a good selection of physical rewards to choose from.
