Rare LEGO brick is perfect for upcoming Star Wars movie

Ahead of the upcoming post-The Rise of Skywalker Star Wars movie, the LEGO Group already have the perfect piece for Rey’s return.

Spoilers for the end of The Rise of Skywalker will follow in this article. At the end of The Rise of Skywalker, Rey revealed her new lightsaber with a yellow blade and black hilt.

With the news that Rey will return in a film set 15 years after the end of the most recent Star Wars movie, LEGO models and minifigures based on the film seem plausible. While there are numerous sets featuring black LEGO lightsaber hilts, the other half of this lightsaber might not be quite as easy to recreate.

At the time of writing, the only LEGO set to include a transparent yellow bar piece is 76025 Green Lantern vs. Sinestro from 2015.

Given that it’s been eight years since this LEGO model was released, it seems unlikely that this colour of the bar element is still in circulation. However, it does mean that some of the LEGO Group’s work is done and ready for any new Rey minifigures, complete with the yellow lightsaber.

No LEGO Star Wars sets based on any of the three recently announced movies have been confirmed and seem unlikely to be for some time. Don’t expect any of these films until 2025 at the earliest.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
