The story of how LEGO changed Star Wars forever

LEGO Star Wars is celebrating 25 years of sets, minifigures and more and the LEGO Group have changed the course of Star Wars forever.

It’s the biggest year yet for LEGO Star Wars as the theme is celebrating 25 years since the biggest theme in the company’s history launched in 1999. The story behind this partnership is a tale worth telling, not only for how it opened the doors for many more licensed LEGO themes.

Brace yourselves for a trip through history with our latest video on the journey of LEGO Star Wars and how the brands have changed each other over two and a half decades.

This nostalgic and informative tale is one worth watching and you can commemorate 25 years of LEGO Star Wars with the 25-second film festival that has finished today, May the 4th, with anniversary models including unique minifigures and in-store events. LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
