There are two Star Wars films on Disney’s current theatrical release schedule

Disney’s latest update to their theatrical release schedule still include two Star Wars movies and adds 21 new untitled movies.

As reported by Eric Goldman of Fandom, Disney’s film release schedule was updated on January 20, 2023, with new additions and dates still booked for more Star Wars movies.

At the time of writing, Star Wars projects have mostly been series on Disney+ since the release of The Rise of Skywalker in 2019 so a return of a galaxy far, far away to the big screen may be overdue. According to the current schedule, the next Star Wars movie is currently set for December 19, 2025, with another coming on December 17, 2027.

Current Star Wars movies confirmed to be on the way include a film by Taika Waititi, Kevin Fiege and Rian Johnson’s trilogy. There’s also Rogue Squadron, but that was pulled from the release schedule in the second half of 2022.

It also hasn’t been confirmed if any of these movies are applicable to either the 2025 or 2027 slot or if they are other films that have yet to be announced. At this time, the next Star Wars project due for release is The Mandalorian Season 3 on March 1, 2023.

Also included in the release schedule are six untitled Marvel movies and 21 newly-added untitled projects. Considering the LEGO Group’s history with both Marvel and Star Wars as well as Disney, more movies are potential contenders for sets, but we’re some time away from most of these films at this time.
