An unspeakably-named LEGO Ideas project just made it past 10,000 supporters

A new LEGO Ideas project has screeched across the 10,000 supporter mark – but its name is hard to get your tongue around.

In full, the set is called V.&T.R.R. #12, GENOA, which doesn’t quite roll off the tongue. However, the creator, SgJess, describes it as Genoa more casually. The build is based on a real-life locomotive, built in 1873 in Philadelphia and served as a passenger puller and sometimes pulling freight cars. It was retired after 28 years of service and can now be visited in its retirement at the California State Railroad Museum.

The 901-piece set itself can be moved and connected to other train cars, although isn’t suitable for curved tracks (although SgJess hints that this could be a future iteration of the build).

This isn’t the first train-themed build from SgJess, with two others also submitted to LEGO Ideas. However, this is their first build to surpass the 10,000 supporter mark.

V.&T.R.R. #12, GENOA joins 24 other sets in 2023’s first review stage, making it the 25th overall. Here’s a reminder of every other set to make the cut so far.
