Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets(76389)

76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets is also the first dedicated depiction of the subterranean space since the LEGO Harry Potter theme relaunched in 2018, and on that basis alone is a worthy addition to any Wizarding World collection. There’s a monstrous rendition of the Basilisk for Harry and Ginny to contend with, complete with opening jaws and an articulated head and tail.

The chamber is tucked underneath the Great Hall – probably the most iconic part of Hogwarts – and is also accompanied by a separate tower, attic space and even a standalone entrance to the Chamber of Secrets. Each area is jammed with details, from the Sorting Hat and Cornish Pixies to Dumbledore’s lectern.

The minifigure line-up is similarly extensive, stretching to Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Tom Riddle, Luna Lovegood, Colin Creevey, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Albus Dumbledore, Gilderoy Lockhart, Professor Sinistra and a glow-in-the-dark Nearly Headless Nick. This is also a 20th-anniversary set, which means it includes six random collectible wizard tiles and an exclusive golden Voldemort minifigure.

It all adds up to a box packed with plenty of magic for Potter fans, now available for a much more palatable price thanks to Zavvi. Delivery starts at £1.99 in the UK, for a total overall price of £101.98.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
