Zavvi’s 24% off deal on LEGO Super Mario 71411 The Mighty Bowser stomps on

MAR10 Day is right around the corner, and you can celebrate with a stomping deal on LEGO Super Mario 71411 The Mighty Bowser at Zavvi.

Nintendo has adopted March 10 as a day to celebrate all things plumbing, or more specificallyx the antics of one particular plumber in red and blue overalls. We’re expecting at least one big LEGO Super Mario reveal on the day, but you can already get in on the action by putting together possibly the theme’s best set to date in 71411 The Mighty Bowser, now available for 24% off at Zavvi.

Coming in at 2,807 pieces, Bowser is not just a stand-out of the Super Mario sets, but probably the entire slate of LEGO character builds. The model captures the King of the Koopas’ iconic form from top to bottom, with ingenious solutions for his shell, head, arms, legs and tail – all of which adds up to one of the most unique building experiences currently on the market.

And while 71411 The Mighty Bowser’s RRP is arguably just a touch too high for what’s in the box, Zavvi’s current discount brings it down to LEGO bargain levels. £174.99 for more than 2,800 pieces (many of which are actually pretty substantial) is a good deal no matter which way you look at it, and you won’t feel shortchanged in the volume of the final model, either.

That’s because Bowser stands a hefty 32cm tall and 28cm deep when finished, and stands on a display base that reaches 41cm wide. He also packs in some very cool functions, from the fireball launcher in his mouth to the puppet-like articulation of his limbs. And he’s even compatible with the LEGO Super Mario, Luigi and Peach digital figures, making for the ultimate boss battle for the interactive theme.

Head through to Zavvi to save 24% on 71411 The Mighty Bowser.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
