Lucasfilm shares new stills for The Mandalorian, Bad Batch, Ahsoka and more
During a private Disney showcase, Lucasfilm shared early looks at a number of Star Wars titles queued up for a 2023 release.
Exclusive to Disney’s APAC Showcase attendees, Lucasfilm debuted a new trailer for The Mandalorian, reports Bespin Bulletin. While it doesn’t seem like much more was added from what we’ve already seen, descriptions of the latest trailer suggest that the next season will focus on Din Djarin attempting to make amends for removing his helmet in The Mandalorian season two and will feature Bo-Katan Kryze as a key antagonist.
While Lucasfilm didn’t reveal a trailer for Ahsoka, three new stills were revealed. According to those there in person, one showed Ahsoka standing in a cave with light shining on her from above, another of the former Jedi wielding her dual lightsabers, and the third displaying Sabine Wren (played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo) However, this could be the same image shown at D23.
The Bad Batch also got a new trailer, covering a lot of the same footage that we got in the first trailer but also hinting at cameos from Emperor Palpatine and Commander Cody. With the second season of The Bad Batch due to release on January 4, we can likely expect this trailer to make it to public viewing soon.
Lucasfilm also debuted a trailer from the second volume of Star Wars: Visions, the animated series due to release sometime in 2023. This early look offered a glimpse of various animation styles, ranging from anime to stop-motion. Finally, The Acolyte star, Lee Jung-Jae, appeared briefly to speak about his role in the upcoming project, but no images or trailers were revealed from the Star Wars show.
With CCXP 2022 expected to kick off tomorrow, we can hopefully expect still more news about these highly-anticipated shows.
