How to become a LEGO VIP member: a step-by-step guide

Find out how to join the LEGO VIP program with our step-by-step guide to the LEGO Group’s loyalty club, which allows you to earn money off sets and exclusive rewards.

Like most brands and retailers these days, the LEGO Group has its own loyalty program. But if you’re not part of the club, you won’t reap the rewards: so, from start to finish, here’s a comprehensive guide to becoming a LEGO VIP member, along with a quick rundown of all the benefits of earning LEGO VIP points.

To begin, simply choose how you want to sign up: online, in-store or over the phone. We can’t help you with the latter two beyond pointing you in the direction of your nearest LEGO Store or local LEGO Customer Services phone number, but if you’d like to sign up online and don’t know where to start, we’ve got you covered.

Follow along with the instructions below by heading to LEGO.com.

First, open up LEGO.com using the link above, where you’ll be greeted with a page that looks a little something like this. See that blue crown symbol in the top right corner, with the letters VIP? Give it a click.

You’ll then arrive at a landing page which summarises all the benefits of the VIP program, before asking existing VIP members to sign in. But if you’re reading this, that’s probably not you. Instead, click the ‘Join Online’ button, and then ‘I’m new and want to join VIP’.

If you’ve already got a LEGO account, you can use that to sign into the VIP Rewards Centre and create your VIP account. If not, you’ll need to set up a LEGO account first. Proceed to the next screen, then pop in your email address, create a password, choose your location and enter your date of birth. Accept the terms and conditions (feel free to read them in minute detail), and hit Next.

You’ll then receive an activation code via email, which you’ll need to type into the following screen.

Then you’re on to the final stage of the sign-up process: enter your name, confirm your language, opt in or out of marketing emails and cookies, and hit Submit.

And with that: you’re in! Head to the VIP Rewards Centre to check out all the rewards you could earn, or go straight ahead and start shopping to begin racking up those VIP points. For best results, make your purchases during double VIP points events. The next one runs from June 9 to 13, 2023.

What is the LEGO VIP program?

The LEGO VIP program is a loyalty scheme that allows shoppers to earn points on all their purchases. These points can then be spent on discount vouchers at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, and on exclusive LEGO-themed rewards.

How do you earn LEGO VIP points?

You’ll earn LEGO VIP points every time you buy a product at LEGO.com or in an official LEGO Store. That’s everything from the biggest boxed sets down to keychains and individual bricks and minifigures. During double VIP points events, you can also earn twice the usual number of points on all purchases.

What can you spend LEGO VIP points on?

LEGO VIP points can be exchanged for discount vouchers to use at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, or for exclusive VIP rewards. These range from sweepstakes entries and digital downloads to physical merchandise and even boxed LEGO sets.

How much are LEGO VIP points worth?

LEGO VIP points are generally equivalent to 5% cashback when redeemed for discount vouchers. During double VIP points events, this value increases to 10%. The value of points when redeemed for exclusive rewards tends to vary, but is usually considered a better return – if you’re interested in the specific reward, anyway.

How do you get more LEGO VIP points?

You can earn extra LEGO VIP points by completing surveys and activities in the VIP Rewards Centre, and by shopping during double VIP points events. The next promo runs from June 9 to 13, 2023, and will allow you to earn double VIP points on all purchases online and in-store.

Do LEGO VIP points expire?

LEGO VIP points expire 18 months after your last purchase at LEGO.com or in a LEGO Store, so make sure not to let your account lie dormant for too long. If you don’t want to spend your points and they’re on the brink of expiry, simply make a small purchase (a keychain, for example) and the 18-month expiry date will reset.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
