Eight great LEGO Marvel Spider-Man minifigures before No Way Home arrives

The worlds of LEGO and Marvel’s web-slinging Spider-Man frequently mix, leading to many detailed minifigures based on the iconic character.

The source inspiration for the LEGO Spider-Man minifigures spans many platforms from the multiple popular movie interpretations of the character to the original comic books and even multiversal versions of the wall crawler.

With Spider-Man: No Way Home releasing in under a week, what better time to go through the past 19 years of LEGO Spider-Man to see a selection of the minifigures that have represented the web-slinger so far, with a mix of new old depictions to tour.

Movies / media

Including Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, there have been eight movies based on the superhero with Spider-Man: No Way Home being the ninth. While each iteration has been played by a different actor (including a Peter Parker in Into the Spider-Verse), only two have received multiple minifigures with Tom Holland’s and Tobey Maguire’s iteration of the character being built in bricks officially

Unsurprisingly, Tom Holland has been the most frequent choice for minifigures with the Marvel Cinematic Universe being a popular pick for the LEGO Group when making Marvel sets.

Some of the most detailed minifigures have been the black and gold suit from 76195 Spider-Man’s Drone Duel and Zombie Hunter Spidey from 71031 Marvel Studios – which is technically based on the What If…? Disney+ series – though the suit with the dark blue colour scheme from 2004 arguably remains a classic even to this day.

Peter Parker isn’t the only Spider-Man in the multiverse, as various other figures have worn the mask and developed their version of the superhero. Overall, very few have been recreated by the LEGO Group, despite the numerous alternate universe LEGO Marvel minifigures dotted throughout the sets, including brand new ones from 2022 in models inspired by Spidey and his Amazing Friends.

Ghost-Spider is one of the returning characters in the 2022 4+ wave, though has had a minifigure before in 76149 The Menace of Mysterio. This version of Gwen Stacy wears a white and black superhero suit with a hood and recently appeared in the new trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Spider-Man 2099 was also featured in the trailer and had his last minifigure in 76114 Spider-Man’s Spider Crawler from 2019.

Rounding out the trio is the green and black Ultimate Spider-Man featured in 76175 Attack on the Spider Lair. While we reviewed the model and were left unimpressed, the minifigure is packed with detail and remains exclusive to the set at the time of writing.

There have only been two minifigures based on Spider-Man as he appeared in video games with the recent PlayStation iteration of the wall-crawler having Miles Morales and Peter Parker wear the suit

These minifigures are as intricately designed as they are exclusive, with both being available as part of conventions, or at least planned to. The former based on Peter Parker’s advanced suit was made available to attendees of San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, and the latter depicting Miles Morales was released to winners of a PlayStation sweepstakes.

My personal favorite Spider-Man related Lego character is Spider-Gwen.
