Is this the biggest clue yet to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s release date?
One lucky LEGO fan may have given us our biggest clue yet to the release date of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Spring has now well and truly sprung, and the hype around Warner Bros. and TT Games’ long-awaited video game is approaching boiling point – but we still don’t know exactly when we’ll be able to get our hands on the saga-spanning sequel.
The game was originally set to debut in 2020, before being delayed to spring 2021 at Gamescom in August. That was basically the last we heard on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga from official sources. Fortunately, one fan has now come through with seemingly definitive proof that the cross-generation game is still on track to hit its planned launch window.
Instagram user wildaboutlego published an image of the deluxe edition’s Blue Milk Luke Skywalker minifigure in hand, which they apparently picked up from an online LEGO reseller. If the bonus character is already out there in the wild, the wheels of industry may be in motion to package and ship the game very soon.
We hopefully won’t have to wait too long to find out, as Warner Bros. is set to make an appearance at GamesRadar’s Future Games Show tomorrow night. With the recent delay of its other major 2021 title, Gotham Knights, the path seems clear for the publisher to drop more info on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
The online event kicks off at 9.45pm UK time, and will run for two hours. If you can’t tune in live, don’t worry: we’ll keep you updated on whether the first LEGO game since 2019 makes an appearance. - I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
