LEGO Marvel 76269 Avengers Tower breaks yet another record

76269 Avengers Tower is the biggest and tallest LEGO Marvel set of all time, but those aren’t the only records this year’s LEGO Black Friday model breaks…

Launching November 24 for £429.99 / $499.99 / €499.99, 76269 Avengers Tower is the third LEGO Marvel modular building (following 76178 Daily Bugle and 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum), and is basically the ultimate Avengers set. Clocking in at 5,201 pieces and standing 90cm tall, it’s easily the biggest and tallest set to come out of the Marvel line-up since Iron Man, Captain America and the gang first hit shelves in 2012.

But as revealed by the designers behind the towering skyscraper, those broad records aren’t the only ones 76269 Avengers Tower will claim when it debuts on Black Friday. In conversation with MiniSuperHeroesToday, LEGO designer Mark Stafford joked that the target audience for the set does not include ‘anyone who’s fed up of windows’, alluding to the sheer number of windows in both 76178 Daily Bugle and now 76269 Avengers Tower.

Fellow designer Justin Ramsden then confirmed that 76269 Avengers Tower includes an astonishing 271 windows. “[It’s] the most amount of windows in a LEGO set as well, which is really, really fun,” Justin said. “You get really sore thumbs after putting them all in.” Basically: if assembling 76178 Daily Bugle’s windows felt laborious, get ready for a whole new world of pain with 76269 Avengers Tower.

Then again, you probably won’t be building and attaching all 271 windows in a row. If 76269 Avengers Tower’s construction is anything like 76178 Daily Bugle’s build process, you’ll break up the repetition and monotony of its glass surfaces with structural and interior details, making for a much more enjoyable (and hopefully less painful) assembly. We’ll find out for sure when our review of 76269 Avengers Tower drops.
