Sold-out LEGO Dungeons & Dragons Mimic GWP already available secondhand

LEGO 5008325 Mimic Dice Box sold out rapidly as fans flocked to buy LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale – but that’s not the only way to get your hands on the set.

Predictably, 5008325 Mimic Dice Box is already popping up on secondhand markets like BrickLink and eBay, with top prices reaching as high as £255 in Japan. European sellers appear to be selling the free GWP in the range of £60-80, which seems a little more reasonable – although still around 20-25% of the total RRP of LEGO Ideas 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale.

5008325 Mimic Dice Box sold out first in the US almost immediately on April 1, soon to be followed by the UK and Europe on April 4. It appears to be sold out in most regions around the world, despite initially being planned to be available as a free gift with purchases of 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale until April 7.

That means the only way to get your hands on the exclusive set if you haven’t already is on the secondhand market – although that’s far from an unlimited supply. At the time of writing, there are 11 listings on eBay and BrickLink a piece and some for eye-watering prices. Of course, the nature of GWPs is that they are limited and with a highly-anticipated like 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale, it’s no surprise both that it sold out quickly and just as quickly appeared on secondhand markets.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
