New LEGO Harry Potter book with Rita Skeeter minifigure out now

The latest edition of the LEGO Harry Potter Character Encyclopedia is available now, complete with the first-ever Rita Skeeter minifigure.

One of the last major Harry Potter characters to receive her own LEGO minifigure, magical journalist Rita Skeeter has been regularly requested by the Wizarding World community since the theme returned in 2018. But rather than find space for her in a set, the LEGO Group has instead deigned to bring us our first Rita Skeeter minifigure in the latest LEGO Harry Potter Character Encyclopedia, which is available to buy now from Amazon.

The hardback book spans 200 pages, all devoted to chronicling LEGO Harry Potter minifigures from the theme’s latest run (so don’t expect anything from 2001 to 2011 here). According to reviews on Amazon, however, it doesn’t contain every single minifigure – so perhaps don’t expect to use it as a comprehensive guide to collecting a complete set of characters from the Wizarding World.

Instead, the DK Books title will get you one step closer to that goal by adding Rita Skeeter to your collection. A specialist in poison-pen stories for the Daily Prophet – typically based on false information – Skeeter appears in the Goblet of Fire and Deathly Hallows Part I films, where she’s portrayed by British actress Miranda Richardson. Her minifigure includes a green flame element to represent her Quick-Quotes Quill.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
