LEGO Icons of Play women’s football set rumoured for June

It’s possible that we may be getting a LEGO Icons football set according to rumours, and it could be here in less than four weeks.

As reported by brick_clicker on Instagram, rumoured set 40634 Icons of Play could possibly be arriving as early as June 1, with 899 pieces and 15 minifigures with it. From what we’ve been told so far the set is likely to be priced at $100 USD, but we don’t know what the possible UK or EU prices could be.

The rumoured LEGO set will apparently celebrate women’s football with minifigures of Megan Rapinoe and Sarina Wiegman to name a few. Overall the minifigures will reportedly include five real life footballers, one manager, one referee and eight spectators.

The build is said to include half a football pitch, a spectator stand (presumably large enough for the eight minifigures), dugouts and a small trophy stand.

LEGO Icons is no stranger to the football scene, with LEGO Icons stadiums in particular focusing on the architecture of the arenas themselves. While those sets didn’t come with minifigures, the inclusion of real-life footballers could make for a really good potential set.

Even with the possible release date of the set being so close we still have no official confirmation from the LEGO Group as to whether this set really exists, so naturally take the news with a pinch of salt for now.
